PowerOptions Connect

Powering Communities Together

PowerOptions Connect (PO Connect) empowers communities to fully participate in the clean energy transition. Our programs are designed to help New England nonprofits and public entities, regardless of size or budget, participate affordably in the clean energy transition.

Building upon the over 25 years of expertise of our sister organization, PowerOptions, we are committed to reducing the cost, carbon and complexity of energy so the organizations we serve can focus on advancing their own missions.

Our Goal: Equity in the Energy Transition

At PowerOptions Connect, we believe that a cleaner future must be an inclusive one. Our core goal is to ensure that under-resourced and vulnerable communities are included in the energy transition. To achieve this, we provide the strategic framework and funding necessary to actualize ambitious sustainability goals through three pillars:

01

Community-Led Strategies

We deploy programs that are built around local priorities and designed in collaboration with the municipalities and community partners they serve.

02

Accelerated Funding

By using using a combination of grants and philanthropic funding, we help organizations overcome capital hurdles.

03

Implementation Support

We work hand in hand with our partners to deliver successful energy transitions that create lasting results for the communities they serve.

Our Programs

Climate Implementation Hub

Your plan exists. Now make it real.

Across New England, towns and cities have written the roadmap. Most find it hard to get off the page. We close the gap between commitment and action with measurable results tied to what your community cares about.

SolarShare

Solar savings that stay in the neighborhood.

Every solar project generates savings. Often these savings leave the community. SolarShare redirects a share of them directly to households burdened with high energy costs. So clean energy isn't just built locally, it's felt locally.

Clean Energy Community Resilience Hubs

When the grid goes down, the community stays on.

Community-focused organizations depend on the same grid that fails in a crisis. Resilience hubs break that dependency with clean-energy powered safe spaces that keep running through extreme weather, power outages, and other disruptions.

Decarbonization and Energy Resilience Support

Clean energy goals shouldn't stall at the starting line.

Nonprofits and public entities throughout New England are ready to decarbonize, reduce costs and build resilience. The barrier isn't ambition, it's access. We put expert planning, funding navigation, and implementation support within reach of every community, regardless of size or budget.

COMMUNITY IMPACT SPOTLIGHT
The LOFT

In Taunton’s Whittenton neighborhood, a long-vacant laundromat is being repurposed into a Community Resilience Hub by T.R.U.E. Collective in partnership with PowerOptions and Beacon Climate Innovations. This fills a local gap for a safe, welcoming place to gather.
